Lounge: Airport Lounge Europe, Module D, Terminal 1, Munich Franz-Josef Strauss Airport

Date of visit: August 25, 2022

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Pros: Reliable lounge with decent food and beverage options

Cons: Seating is somewhat cramped, Lufthansa passengers must transit via bus

I visited Airport Lounge Europe at 10 am on a weekday. Since I was flying Lufthansa, which is in Terminal 2, I needed to take a bus. Follow the signs in the terminal reading “BUS”. The bus runs at least every 20 minutes. (See the electronic sign for the next departure time.)

In the morning, the food selection includes scrambled eggs and some German mainstays like pastries, yogurts and large pretzels. There’s a basic array of wine, beer and spirits.

There is ample — yet somewhat cramped — seating.

Bottom line: Airport Lounge Europe is a functional space to visit before a Schengen flight, not a luxurious space like Airport Lounge World.
