Lounge: Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Terminal 4, New York City John F. Kennedy International Airport

Date of visit: September 1, 2024

Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Pros: Distinctive interior, spacious seating

Cons: Just about everything costs extra!

I had wanted to visit a Virgin Atlantic lounge for many years. Finally, I had a flight that aligned with Virgin’s limited operating schedule. (This location closes at 1:30 pm every day). I was sorely disappointed in my experience. The menu lists several appealing food options, including a chicken sandwhich, but most cost extra. So does the shower amenity.

This lounge’s decor is authentically Virgin, but its stingy vibe is straight from Ryanair. If the thought of paying for lounge food revolts you, do yourself a favor and load up on Indian fare across the way at Air India Maharaja. Then come back to the Virgin Clubhouse for a nap.

The lounge has a playful vibe that harkens to Cool Britannia
The decor reminded me of a Virgin Hotel
Ample seating on a Sunday early afternoon
