Lounge: The Club, Terminal 1, San Francisco International

Dates of visit: August 16, 2024 and Nov 19, 2024

Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5

Pros: Luxe and spacious interior, premium amenities, savory food, full bar

Cons: Showers cost $25 (!)

This space is the latest example of The Club’s strategy to go upmarket. It was busy on a Friday evening—but it didn’t feel crowded.

The interior is ultra sleek. The buffet offers high quality fare, albeit with a limited selection. The best time is 5pm-8pm, when cioppino and shrimp are served. The bar is a marvel, featuring creative cocktails.

Amenities include an exercise room featuring a Lululemon mirror and assorted workouts (available through an iPad), two “luminescence rooms” and Zoom rooms. I wanted to check out the showers, but these cost $25.

My second visit was on a Tuesday morning. The buffet was good, featuring savory and sweet hot dishes alongside yogurt.

I’ll let these photos tell the rest of the story.

Left: The lobby hints at the posh decor inside. Right: a faux fireplace greets guests on the second floor.
The main seating area is flanked by a bar and soothing wallpaper
Raspberry bramble
The dining area is capped with galactic light fixtures
The food has a Northern California flair. Offered this evening were cioppino and Ghirardelli chocolate brownies
Breakfast buffet: (L) egg and enoki mushrooms, turkey sausage, bliny, yogurt cup, and fresh fruit; (R) congee
Nooks & crannies: a “quiet room” behind the elevator and Zoom rooms
You can reserve a Lululemon Mirror room for a variety of activities, or a “luminescence” room to warm up in the morning … or wind down at night
Wonder what the women’s room looks like
